It's all over for Dan Evans. That mammoth first-round win against Karen Khachanov - the longest match in US Open history - has finally caught up with the Briton.

The 34-year-old fought hard to level the tie at one set apiece, but his energy levels dropped considerably and he needed a medical timeout early in the third set.

With Evans unable to challenge, Australia's 10th seed De Minaur went on a 12-game winning streak to wrap up a 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 6-0 6-0 victory.

Dan Evans will be hoping to join fellow Briton Jack Draper in the fourth round at the US Open when he faces Australian 10th seed Alex de Minaur shortly.

That match takes place on Louis Armstrong Stadium from 00:00 BST in the evening session.

Elsewhere, Polish women's top seed Iga Swiatek takes on Russian 25th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova at the same time on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

In case you missed it earlier, Britain's Jack Draper is into the US Open fourth round after beating the Netherlands' Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets.

The win saw 25th seed Draper equal his best ever Grand Slam run after reaching the fourth round at Flushing Meadows last year.

Draper will play Czech world number 39 Tomas Machac for a place in the quarter-finals after he beat Belgium's David Goffin earlier today.

Italian top seed Jannik Sinner is heading towards the fourth round after going a break up in the third set against Australia's Christopher O'Connell on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

World number one Sinner is in Jack Draper's half of the draw, so could be a potential opponent for the Briton further down the line...

Jack Draper on his third-round victory over Botic van de Zandschulp:

"First of all, I think Botic [van de Zandschulp] played an incredible match against Carlos [Alcaraz]. It's not always easy to go on that big stage and play such a player like Carlos and then come out the next round and feel really good because it's just so tiring being put in that situation so credit to him. I thought I played a solid match today. It was a little bit scrappy, a little bit up and down but I got through in the end.

On his year so far, including winning his first title and beating Carlos Alcaraz at Queen's :

"Last year, I had a tough year with injuries. This year, I've been able to stay on court to compete all the time on the tour against the best players in the world. This is why I put all the hard work in, to play in front of you guys on the biggest stages in the world so I'm really, really happy and grateful for all the great people around me and we keep wanting more.

On playing well in New York:

"I think it's the conditions and the courts. I love the courts here. They're sort of fast but they're also slow at the same time and just the energy I get from the crowd and people supporting me. This is what the players work so hard for, to come out here and to play in front of you guys so it's really special to get the support every time I play."

I think what's quite exciting as well is that I don't think this has necessarily been Jack Draper's best performance. Maybe you're not able to have a performance that feels your best when you're playing somebody of the game style of Botic van de Zandschulp, who is not going to give you any rhythm and it is going to be quite hit and miss.

Hopefully you can beat these players with levels still within you.

Botic van de Zandschulp has completely lost his composure here.

The Dutchman serves three double faults - that's five in a row after a couple in his previous service game.

The crowd try and lift Van de Zandschulp but he goes into the net next point and Jack Draper will now serve for a place in the fourth round.

The British-American team have lost in three sets to the all-American duo Tristan Boyer and Emilio Nava.

Boyer and Nava, who are unseeded, will face another Brit in round three in Neal Skupski and his New Zealand teammate Michael Venus, who are the eighth seeds.

Botic van de Zandschulp puts a backhand long - his 29th unforced error of the match - as Jack Draper moves into a 15-30 lead.

The Briton mirrors Van de Zandschulp's mistake, but the Dutchman serves a double fault next point to offer a break point to Draper.

Remarkably, Van de Zandschulp then serves a second double fault to gift Draper the break.
